why we exist

The heartbeat of our church is to see lives changed by the power of God's Spirit. We believe that every person has a God-given purpose inside of them. When God's Spirit moves on us, we move closer to God's plan

for our lives.

Whether you’re new to church, have been a Christian for many years, or are looking for a fresh start, you’re welcome here. Our hope is to give you a place where you experience a fresh, enjoyable connection to God and

a community of people.

Our desire at Little River is for people to EXPERIENCE God in a personal and powerful way. God is not just a historical figure, but He is someone we can personally encounter and experience. It is our sincere belief that God wants to be made known and visible through His presence to all people.

what we believe

Here at Little River, we are striving to be real in principle, practice and purpose. We are founded in and live by the inspired, infallible word of God -the Bible.

What We Believe

We believe in the great commission and are endeavoring to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with love, mercy and compassion.

We believe there is only one God (Deuteronomy 6:4). He is the creator of heaven and earth, and of all living beings. He has revealed himself to humanity as the Father (Creator), as the Son (Savior), and as the Holy Ghost (indwelling Spirit). Ephesians 4:5-6 "One Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all."

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, a divine revelation from God to man. We accept the scriptures as the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin; that He lived a sinless life, was crucified on Calvary for our sins, and bodily rose from the grave, and that He has been exalted on the throne of God, where He is the only mediator between God and man. We believe that, through His death and life, we have personal salvation and power for victorious living.

We believe that all men have sinned and stand in need of redemption, which is obtained through the new birth by faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that new birth is experienced by those who appropriate the gospel (death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ) to their lives by repenting of sins, being baptized in water by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, as promised in Acts 2:38. We believe the initial evidence of the Holy Spirit indwelling is when one speaks in other tongues, as the Spirit gives the utterance. Those being born again of water and spirit become children of God and heirs with Jesus Christ. (Acts 2, John 3, I Corinthians 15:1-4)

Christian Living

As Christians we are to love God and love others. We are to worship God joyfully and seek to live a life that is pleasing to him both inwardly and outwardly—in our thoughts, words, and actions. We are empowered to live a life pleasing to God through the Holy Spirit. As a Spirit-filled church, we believe that the supernatural gifts of the Spirit are for the church today and are available to all Spirit-filled believers.

(Mark 12.28-31; 1 Corinthians 12.8-10; 2 Corinthians 7.1; Romans 8.13-14; Galatians 5.19-26; Hebrews 12.14)

The Church

We believe the church has been called out of the world to be a group of people who follow Jesus Christ fully and love one another sacrificially. We believe the church, through the power of the Holy Spirit, is called to affect genuine spiritual change in the community. We believe the local church is the hope of the world! The church is called to be one group of people made up of many members; all using their talents and abilities for the cause of Christ.

(Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 5:20; Hebrews 10:23-25; Acts 2:42-47, 17:6, 1 Peter 2:5; 1 Corinthians 12:12-26)
